Cutting accuracy is the first factor in determining the quality of a CNC laser cutting machine. The four major factors that affect the cutting accuracy of CNC laser cutting machines are:
1. The size of laser condensation in the laser generator. If the light spot is very small after aggregation, the cutting accuracy is very high, and the gap after cutting is also very small. This indicates that the precision and quality of the laser cutting machine are very high. But the beam emitted by the laser is conical, so the cut gap is also conical. Under these conditions, the thicker the workpiece, the lower the accuracy, resulting in a larger cutting seam.
2. The precision of the workbench. If the precision of the workbench is very high, the cutting accuracy will also be improved accordingly. Therefore, the accuracy of the workbench is also a very important factor in measuring the accuracy of the laser generator.
3. The laser beam condenses into a cone shape. When cutting, the laser beam is tapered downwards. If the thickness of the workpiece being cut is very large, the cutting accuracy will decrease, and the gap cut will be very large.
4. The different materials used for cutting can also affect the accuracy of the laser cutting machine. In the same situation, the accuracy of cutting stainless steel and cutting aluminum will be very different. The cutting accuracy of stainless steel will be higher, and the cutting surface will also be smoother.
Generally speaking, the quality of laser cutting can be measured by the following six standards.
1. Surface roughness Rz for cutting
2. Size of slag hanging on the incision
3. Verticality and slope of cutting edge
4. Cutting edge fillet size
5. Stripe dragging amount
6. Flatness
